im almost positive they spray the shit out of the farm for bugs. ive never gotten a bite there of any kind. never reaaly seen any living bugs other then larger grasshoppers and spiders.

Yea, Im not scared of much but spiders terrify me. Ive accepted my freak outs when I see one. They can be pretty good size at Roo lol. But Ive never ever had a problem with mosquitos or fleas or ticks. They are doin somethin on that farm, cause I know there should be more bugs than there are. Keep feedin those suckers DDT or whatever lung destroying pesticide works best Superfly, Ill risk it for 4 days to not have the creepy crawlers.
Yea, I was really surprised that there weren't that many bugs, either. I don't think I got one single mosquito bite the entire weekend, and I came well prepared for the worst. I did see a tic on some guy during Beck, but I told him so that joker didn't last too long.

I read somewhere that extremely large groups of people can actually ward off mosquitos! I can't remember where, or if there's any truth to it, but much like you, I haven't gotten a single bite in my three years there!

It would be great if they were to revamp the main stage area into something more like the amphitheater outdoor venues I am sure we have all been to. A nice stage with a long gentle hill to help people way in the back (like me) see the stage a little better. No seats though, that would upset me. Moving the sound booth like someone else said would be great, but I don't know how they could, really.
Someone mentioned better markers for the camp areas. If I walked back to my tent from Centeroo and saw 300 tall metal poles with numbers and letters and lights on them, that would also upset me. I am sure I took the long route a couple of times, but I never got lost finding my tent, even at night.

::knocks on wood furiously::
It is the "roofunk" created by all those people that repels the bugs... Gotta be! ???

maybe there are so many people the likelihood of getting bit goes way down!

even blacked from drinking a little too much vodka one afternon, i still found my campsite before i passed out
i called Cruise America in Knoxville to rent an RV. The kind lady there told me that since they bought the farm, they will be putting in electricity and running water for the RVs to hook up to,maybe even sewer. She said it will be run more like a campground.
PS she also laughed at me and said that theirs and everyone else in TN RVs for the weekend of Bonnaroo have been booked up for three months now.

I would love to see some showers, even if they are the large community showers like at the YMCA. I dont mind not showering but it would feel good by saterday to stand under some water and get refreshed a bit. I don't care to much about "real" bathrooms, they will stink just as bad as portos once the fest gets started.
they have tons of lakes and trees. you guys know that you can choose which fest you go to right? you dont have to make Bonnaroo have everything. i know its tempting cuz it almost does have everything.
dont get me wrong, ive been to Bonnaroo 04, 05 and 06. i think its absolutely awesome. but in terms of shade, and swimming, and keeping cool, its no so good.
i do like the trolley idea though. maybe just tell the golf cart guys that its ok to pick up people for a buck or two.
i think if they did make a trolley they should do it up like the skyride that takes you across cedar point in that bucket hooked to a ski lift. it all enclosed so noone could freek out. i think it would be at least as safe as the ferris wheel.

Wow. That's a tremendous idea. A skyride at Bonnaroo would be convenient and very, very cool for seeing the grounds. The problem is finding the people to man it 24 hours a day.

They should build bowled out hills or multiple tears like stadium style minus the chairs in front of the main stages so everyone could have a good view. They could use the rubber stuff that playgrounds have on the ground instead of grass to prevent mud and have drains at the bottom of the bowl. I also think permanent amphitheaters would be key with some cover over the crowd. i dunno about the logistics of bathrooms but they would be nice. i like the drive in screen idea but then they could only show flicks at night. Better defined roads and pathways. Better filtration for h2o. An All YOU CAN EAT BUFFET!!!!! Wifi internet though out the farm.

Some permanent stuff would be nice, but they can't change it too much from what it has been in past years simply because of the massive number of people who show up. I'd love to see permanent bathrooms, but as everyone has mentioned there's the problem of the plumbing getting plugged up; 70,000 people would do that in a matter of hours, I'm sure, unless they build a warehouse of bathrooms.
A cool thing about Bonnaroo, for me, is how primitive it all is. Building too many permanent facilities would make it perhaps too much like the "outside world," taking away part of the magic.
I dunno. Some stuff would be nice, but unless they get the logistics spot-on on the first try bad things might happen. And it'd be really easy to go overboard and make the farm just another theme park.

well said dude. couldn't agree more. i like feeling as though i'm descending into the jungles of the wild where natural law is king
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
Being from Coffee Co., I have actually talked to some local business folks that say there are plans for permanent reatrooms. I would say some, RV hookups will be available too. The local periodicals have also mentioned plans for other music events to take place there....That I see very possible because the closest local amphitheatre---Starwood has announced its closing..It is 40 miles up I24........I could see the farm doing something to counter that.

I really hope so. I would love to see DMB at the farm There is really no other outdoor venue in Nashville now - except for the Riverfront and the Stadium.
The possibilities of other music events on the farm scare me a little. Bad behavior from people at other events could ruin it for the folks at the following Bonnaroos, be it different rules, different security, etc.

That's a really good point but, I guess we all just have to faith.
If they build anything... I would love to see them utilize the most state of the art "GREEN" technology available!!! Solar Power, Wind Mills, Septic Recycling.....etc.
