How about a Bonnaresort? You could put a show room in so that when the festival isn't going on, there could still be solo shows, etc., and they could make use of the property.
Some of you may love camping, but it'd be pretty fantastic to be able to go back to your hotel room at the end of the night.
Those rumors were addressed in the "Bonnaroo buys the farm" thread. I think they come from a misunderstanding from an interview with Superfly. They were talking about expanding the business into other ventures ie. condos, hotels and the like. The way I understood it, they were not talking about the farm inparticular.
man i love the outdoors and the roughing aspect of roo, i hope they don't build any thing out of concrete, asphalt, etc.....they could build some permanent water stations but other than that, what do they need? if it aint broke, don't fix it will ring true on the future of bonnaroo

I think it would spoil the whole experience of Roo if they built too much. I would be happy with permanent restrooms and water stations in Centeroo. Other than that I would be happy if it all stayed the same.
1. Bathrooms!!!! This is number one on mine, and I would imagine, a lot of other people's list!
2. Improved walkways inside centroo, not neccesarily concrete, but better than the mud holes we have to walk through now.
3. Some permanent structures within centeroo to house like a restaurant or micro-brewery, that is air conditioned!
4. Perhaps some permanent seating at the two stages similar to the VIp seating areas, but in a manner that does not interfere with the field so you can still stand or sit in the grass.
What else guys????
Oh and a water park and strip club!!

I gotta say that I hope things don't change too much as well. I'm all for bathrooms, but showers are pointless (to me). In fact, I rather enjoy the muck.
Most importantly, I think there should be a permanent air conditioned facility for people suffering injuries, exhaustion, and "freak-outs". I think it would make sense and should probably be at the top of their list.
Yeah, I can live without showers... Done it before and I'll do it again. If I had the option to stay in hotel there I'd like to think I wouldn't do it, camping is half the fun!
What you all seem to be missing is the more they do build the better the fest will get. Not because of the things they built, but because they are permanent. They will be saving boatloads of cash by not having to rent stuff. If they start to develope it a bit like an actuall venue or ampitheatre they will bring in tons of money they previously lost.
I echo the sentiment that bathrooms would be a big plus. Permanent water stations would be great. Permanent med areas would also be a good thing. Showers would be nice as well. But I don't want much more than that really. Part of the experience of Bonnaroo is the camping, the mud, roughing it, etc.
I see alot of people saying they should build bathrooms. I disagree with this. just imagine a permanent bathroom with plumbing and all the problems that could arise as opposed to the simplicity of the portojohn. if you had a bathroom, and one toilet got backed up or started spilling over you would pretty much ruin the whole area until they could get some plumbers in there. just imagine a big permanent bathroom with all those people lined up going in and out throwing huge ammounts of toilet paper in the flush.

could compromise and have pit toilets inside a permanent structure like they do at campgrounds here. cleaner than a portopotty but without the plumbing woes.
I don't know, some bathrooms would be nice...........although, playing "whats behind the door" game at the nearest bank of porta johns when you have to go so bad your eyes are yellow, is entertaining. Danbird, I really hope you get that shield for the sun thing worked out :-)
I agree with all about bathroom facilities, as far as anything else, not really sure about anything else, the strip club would cost too much, but I would be open for a slip and bleed.

I love the shield for the sun idea also It would be cool if they planted some more large trees in some of the open areas. I know I made good use of one near one of the stages for shade when I couldn't take the sun anymore.

Let the wounded be comfy.
I was going to write my reply, but this is exactly what I would have written. Well said Moonsky409.
The wounded are the only ones who should be comfy.
Bonnaroo is not about comfort, It's about the best of music in the worst conditions. If you are gonna let a little heat, mud, feces get in the way of all the great music around you, then you need to get your priorities straight.
I vow to never take a shower at Bonnaroo no matter what facilities are presented, and also to dance my way upfront to every sick show I can get my hands on. The only problem is I can't be in 6 places at once and sometimes everyone who's on a stage or tent is heady McGoodness.

Being unclean is all well and good, and I think camping should always be an option, but a hotel onsite for those who only like to rough it for part of the day wouldn't be bad either.
I'm all about options. And Superfly is a business. They're going to want to optimize profitability. Permanent structures means that the site can be utilized more of the year. More festivals, more fun, more Bonnaroo. I'm down.
It's just a matter of time until they have a bitchin' New Year's celebration under their new retractable Bonnadome. I can't wait!

plus it could also open up options for bonnaroosters who simply can't rough it for whatever reason, age, disability, etc... they would benefit considerably from the option of more comfortable amenities.

I agree wholeheartedly, the Roo should be open and accessable to all.

I am totally with you on the hotel idea. I could see it being about the same price as an RV (probably $250-350 a night = $1,200 for RV), and you would not have to worry about the power going out on you while you are taking the one shower you get in the RV.
