I really dont think Ghostlands new album could be put anywhere near a "Best Albums" thread
If you read my post, you'd see that it was in a list of albums that I have heard so far from this year.... it is NOT one of the best albums I've heard this year. Can't lie, though, I like some of it.
Not records of the year by anymeans, considering they came out almost 20 years ago, but in reissues of the year go to The Replacements first 4 albums (Sorry Ma...,Stink,Let It Be, and Hootanany) and the expanded Whiskeytown Strangers Almanac. These 5 records defined my teens and Twentys.

I was more directing that towards heatheroo's comment, my bad I should of quoted. I agree tho there are def some really really great songs on that album and they sound amazing live but there are also some really terrible songs on it. Also IMO there are more terrible than amazing.

i can't say yet that it is their best but i can't seem to put it down. it definitely rocks a bit more than their last effort 'Tournament of Hearts' but it definitely still has some good ballads. This gets added to my list along with Drive-by Truckers, Malkmus, and Black Mountain.

I also wouldn't say it would make any "best albums" lists, but I just feel the need to plug ghostland any chance I get as they are one of my favorite bands, if not my favorite band.
Why? - Alopecia Xiu Xiu - Women As Lovers Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! A Silver Mt. Zion - 13 Blues For Thirteen Moons Destroyer - Trouble In Dreams Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin - Pershing
Also, placidcasual79, The Constantines rock my socks off. I'll have to check out their new album. I actually thought "Tournament of Hearts" was a pretty solid album. I'm a bit surprised they're still so relatively unknown. Actually, scratch that - considering what passes for a good album these days, it's not so shocking after all. It was a sad, sad day when I learned that Mariah Carey had sold more records than Pink Floyd.
Oh my God... I had no idea Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds had something new?!?
Must get this when I get off work!
I hear ya. I've liked them since I was a little kid and heard "Red Right Hand" on the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack. Actually, the father of a good friend of mine used to be a rock journalist in Australia and he told me about how, when he interviewed Nick Cave, Nick didn't look at him once. He wasn't busy doing anything, but just stared off into space the whole time.
