so we get a new Matt Costa album in January then new Jack Johnson and Mike Doughty in February..... I dont know about yall but this makes me a very happy man....and with the chance of a new DMB album its shaping up to be a great year in music for me. So now I'm wondering what else have yall heard about 2008?
I am really excited that Tantric is finally putting out a new CD in early 2008....the demo of the first single (with Kevin Martin guesting) is on their myspace page....sounds good! ;D
Looking forward to a new Umphrey's album. Should be out by the summer and will have a more progressive sound than the last couple albums, which excites me. They won't be playing 90% of the material before the album comes out so it will all be fresh. I'm very excited.

Thanks for the heads up....I'll be looking out for it.....would love some new Ump's for the new year! ;D
Also hoping Jeff Austin (YMSB) and Brendan Bayliss (UM) finally record their album together. They have had the material and played much of it live for over a year and a half now. Time to hit the studio boys.

Stanton Moore to Release New Studio Album with Tom Morello and Boots Riley User Rating: / 0 Written by Mike Greenhaus Monday, 14 January 2008
Galactic drummer Stanton Moore has recently completed a series of studio sessions with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and rapper Boots Riley. The unlikely trio are scheduled to release the project under the name the Street Sweeper via Epic Records this spring. As first reported by New Orleans’ The Times-Picayune, Moore first met Morello at a November 2006 Future of Music Coalition benefit concert held at Tipitina's and the new friends first bonded while standing at the bar of Ernie K-Doe's Mother-in-Law Lounge. Meanwhile, Boots Riley is one of the many MCs who appeared on Galactic’s 2007 hip-hop disc, From the Corner to the Block.
Morello recently reunited with his Rage Against the Machine bandmates for a series of shows, including an appearance at October’s Vegoose (an event which is co-produced by Galactic managers Superfly Presents). The guitarist also performed at Bonnaroo as The Nightwatchman.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer
A little feeling in my gut that I get of late when I think about these cats running the world with hate

Excellent job, zdlr. I may send you a fruit basket to thank you. Whereabouts in Nimrod do you live?
There's one album about which I'm excited, although probably not too many other people will be. It's They Might Be Giants's new children's album, "Here Come the 1, 2, 3's" and it's due out on CD/DVD on Feb. 5th. You can add that to the list.
Also, here's a great place to look for upcoming releases, though they include a lot of rumored releases in their list as well. Might take a little of the work away from you, zdlr:

2008 has been kicked off for me with the Deluxe Edition of Odelay. I love it, it contains great remixes and B-Sides, overall it is much better than other Deluxe Editions I have found.
New North Mississippi Allstars album has come out already this year. It's entitled Hernando, named after the city in Mississippi they are from. It's catchy, but so is all their stuff. Good southern rock n' roll.
