Alternative hip hop...sick concept for the song (underdogs, unite!) & this song in particular pays tribute to Kurt Cobain with the sample of "As You Are" on the hook.
This is a fun project I discovered recently. The Derevolutions. It's fun electro-pop with an abundance of catchy. Here's a link to the soundcloud. snd.sc/1bcS2ZP
Anyone else dig it? I like Living in the Not World and Yell it Out.
Gemini Club was recently brought to my attention and I'm really liking what I'm hearing! They are an Electronic Rock band. Their SoundCloud page really hooks you up. On it, you can download Sparklers, Preacher, and the entire Future Tidings EP for free! Here's the link!

My best friend (and my best Roo buddy too!) has just released a new music video. I've been a fan of his band since they first started, and I couldn't be prouder of the video. Oh and an added bonus is that he's Kurt Vile's younger brother. They are a really cool experimental rock band and he loves to push the boundaries of his music. Take a look!

I discovered this blog on tumblr last year. It has been a great way to discover to music of all genres. It has pop, alternative, indie, folk, you name it. Updated multiple times through the week, and all posts are through soundcloud so you can easily click to find out more music on a band. Also includes some cool remixes.
One of the few bright spots from my local music scene (San Antonio, TX). He just released a new EP on spotify/apple music (just search Cooper Greenberg) if anyone likes what they hear.

One of my closest friends just released his first full album, super-talented guy. If any of you live near Charlottesville (UVA), he has a show set at The Southern next month.

Dunno if I'm behind on this, but my friend just showed me this Joyner Lucas guy. Both of these songs are 1000x better than the originals, I like him a lot!
A friend of mine from high school dropped her debut EP today and it's been picking up a little bit of traction - was reviewed by Pitchfork and featured on All Songs Considered. It's a really dope little set of tracks, not sure what I'd compare it too though. Here's the pitchfork review for anyone interested.

Earlier this year I made a master playlist of my all-time favorite songs, scores, and ambient soundscapes. This is the music that has either inspired me the most or has left its mark on my spirit. I’ve spent months perfecting the order of the tracks so it flows flawlessly. Please don’t use shuffle

No gecs?
No. This is supposed to be a healing playlist for me. Gecs will give me a panic attack.

Thanks man. It’s supposed to be peaceful and organic so I think it definitely works as working music.
