So I'm sure all of you have this problem as much as I do... I have a tendancy to get a song stuck in my head for days at a time, Earlier this week it was Kol's fans from their new album
Now I've resorted to one of the songs which seems to be in perpetual rotation within my brain Wolf Parade's I'll believe in anything
Just wondered what you guys have had stuck in your heads, any recomendations on how to get said songs gone once they have worn out their welcome, or any songs that are pleasantly welcomed into a workdays worth of repetition and whisteling along

Singing it loudly is the best way...I had Little Ghosts by White Stripes last week for most of the week. Recently it has been Modest Mouse - Never Ending Math Equation
I try not to get rid of it, if i like it, i like it so let it flow...Letting the music flow through you like digesting food (this time a song) is the best way in my opinion...

I woke-up yesterday with the theme from "Charles In Charge" looping through my head! Can you imagine anything more annoying than that? What a sh!tty way to wake-up! That's worse than stubbing your toe as soon as you get out of bed. I don't usually keep stubbing my toe, over and over, all day long but, that damn song stayed with me for like 10 hours! DAMN YOU, SCOTT BAIO!!!!!!

Normally I just have 'Bouncing Round the Room' (Phish) and 'CLimb to Saftey' (WSP) stuck in my head. Last night and this morning though I've been on a Clapton kick and now all I have is Layla goin round and round.
Just let the music play. I love having music stuck in my head a lot. Preferably multiple songs. Saves money on me getting an Ipod. Why get one when I always have a playlist stuck in my head?

haha I had the same problem with Little Ghost!
That Song is infectious, something about the melody of the song makes it easily accessible to your memory...but i love hte song so its alright...I do hate when i get crappy music stuck in my head, my roommate listens to mostly rap (although i have been working on that) and i had this crappy song stuck in my head last week that was really starting to annoy me...oh well

word, I would way rather have a White Stripes song stuck in my head than to have "This is Why I'm Hot" by Mims stuck in my head.
The way to cure a song getting stuck in my head, at least for me, is to listen to it again as soon as possible. After hearing it again, it goes away. I know, pretty weird.
Ever since I changed my ringtone to the Dead's "Bertha," I've had the hook engrained.
Other than that, stellstarr's "Sweet Troubled Soul" has been in my head for days. Some of the lyrics are truly cringe worthy, but they manage to make a passage like this hook...
"I want to suffer in your arms and when you're naked in the dark i want to seeeeeeee your face in the reflection of my bedroom stereo we'll take it slow sweet troubled soul"
Doh. Just bad. Yet I have it echoing in my head all day due to their abiliity to make that sh*t stick!

Currently, DMB - "Say Goodbye", the version on The Best of What's Around (with the long flute intro), but any version'll do in a pinch. I dig the drunken stream of conciousness-ness of the lyrics. I also love how the band keeps making the same song fresh and new by evolving the lyrics and arrangements every performance.
Tonight let's be lovers, say you will And hear me call, soft-spoken whispering love A thing or two I have to say here Tonight let's go all the way then Love I'll see you, Just for this evening Let's strip down, trip out at this One evening starts with a kiss Run awaaaaaaaaay!

I've had the chorus to +81 by Deerhoof stuck in my head for months now. This is all it is. Choo choo choo choo, beep beep. It comes on in my car and I want to crash into a retaining wall..... but I do love it.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

Little ghost, little ghost One I'm scared of the most Can ya scare me up a little bit of love? I'm the only one that sees you And I can't do much to please you And it's not yet time to meet the Lord above!
It's usually crappy songs that I get stuck in my head, thanks to the crappy radio at work. Like today I woke up with Avril Lavigne in my head and that friggin song with the dude from Matchbox 20 and Santana. I hate that sh!t.
As for good music, lately it's been Bright Eyes-If the Brakeman Turns My Way
Well, I just cured myself of the Fall Out Boy blues... I played Mario for SNES for 4 hours straight with the volume on loud. Now I got those songs in my head

First off, that Avril song rules.
Second off, good call on the Bright Eyes -- sh*t's got an earworm of a hook.
