So honored to finally get to see Eric Clapton. He told Rolling Stone in an interview that he is retiring in 2 years. So this may have been Nashville's last chance. God, what a guitar player.
Just stole some tickets in an Ebay auction to Crossroads Festival. So pumped to see him.
In that interview though, I thought he said he was gonna retire from "touring" at 70, but still planned to play shows. I sure hope he doesn't hang it up for good.

Went to opening night of the Fleetwood Mac tour tonight. They played a good 2 hours. All the hits and a couple of new tunes. I guess they have a new EP being released real soon.
Back in January I went to a small venue in CT to support my buddy's band...After they finished their set I stuck around for the next band because I was intrigued by all the instruments they busted out (banjo, an upright bass, trumpet etc). They came all the way from Ohio and kicked ass. Check out Dear Commonwealth if you are looking for a folk/jazz vibe.
Has anyone ever been to "The Vera Project" in Seattle? I have tickets to see The Men there. Apparently is an all ages venue( I find this out after the fact). Was hoping to see them on 4/20, but might just catch them in Vancouver the night before. I'd prefer NOT to have to worry about trampling some 12 year old kid in my drunken state, still gonna be in Seatyle for 4/20, just not sure what I'm going to see just yet.
Seeing turf war/Twin Tigers, Kylesa/Bear Fight!, Dead Confederate/Roadkill Ghostchoir, and The Sword/Bear Fight! in the next few weeks which is a great run of shows for Savannah. I've only seen Bear Fight! (local metal band) out of those but they absolutely killed it at Stopover.

I saw a Phil Lesh Spring Ramble Friday at Phil's club - Terrapin Crossroads. This lineup included Luther weenieinson and Anders Osborne. They both tore it up, but I've always been a huge fan of Luther. He brought out his two-string coffee can guitar for a smoking version of Rollin' and Tumblin' and they did a couple of Neil Young songs (Down by the River and Cortez the Killer). I love the rotating cast of musicians who come through this venue.

Saw Wavves with Fidlar and Cheetahs @ Kings Baracade in Raleigh, NC on 4/14. It's a very small venue and was perfect setting for their style of show. I was really impressed they seemed much more refined and professional than their set at Roo 2011, but still brought tons of energy and passion. They even played a Sublime cover(Santeria) for Steven the bassist's B-day who seemed fairly drunk but I enjoyed it and the band and crowd all thought it was funny. Overall a very energy filled fun live show with two decent opening bands. It'd give it an B+ overall and would definitely see them again for a third time.
This woman just threw her guitar into the audience. The security guys were so confused as to whether to let it go or whether to get it back. Ritzy rocks - seriously underrated live band.
Has anyone been to a good show lately? I saw the Allman Brothers last night playing their last night of the year at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. It was AWESOME! After a night with many special guests, Mike Mattison (the singer from the Derek Trucks Band) sang a song, the next song had Mike Gordon (from Phish) on bass! Derek rocked out (I am a huge fan of him and his solo band) and his wife played slide on a song too! The encore was a great rendition of Derek's version of Bock to Bock that seemed to last forever, but the best part was meeting Mike Mattison on the subway after the show! What a night! Too bad the Allmans wont be at the 'roo this year, they were great last june!
Saw the Lonely Forest over the weekend in Memphis..they were awesome! The singer asked the crowd how many of us saw them play at Bonnaroo last year..when a few people responded he was like "hey cool, we made like 5 fans".

I saw The Black Angels last week in Columbus. Elephant Stone opened for them, and I was really impressed with their live show. I also bought their most recent CD, and it's pretty good: Poppy 60s psychedelic rock, with some Hindu flourishes. As for The Black Angels, they were incredible, as always. The visuals, combined with the heavy psychedelic music, was almost overwhelming at times, but in a good way. I wish I could go to the Austin Psych Fest. ...

Saw How to Destroy Angels last night. Visually one of the best shows I've ever seen, top 3 easy. They put on a great show. I do think the barrier between the audience and the band kind of brought down the energy. I think it would have been a little better if the band was more visible when the barriers were moved. The lighting they used in those instances still obscured faces. My friend was asking me questions about what the singer looked like and we were in something like a 1500 person venue.
No matter what beautifully performed and stunningly put together on the whole. I highly recommend this show.

That's easy for you to say Mr. I live in Chicago and every show comes to me. Luckily, I will be seeing them @ Voodoodoo ferst in 6 months. Hopefully the other SE peeps north of me get them at MOEMS.

That was like 1 show out of thousands that we got and you didn't. My wife and I was third row for Tom Waits. It was the best show ever.

I saw how to destroy angels in boston last night. Listening to the albums doesn't do the show much justice. The visuals were very cool and the band was good but trent is a perfectionist so i expected that.
Picturess to come, but Goat was (excluding festivals) the best show I have seen since Radiohead last June. Truly amazing show.
Details and pics, por favor.
Sorry about the delay, work has kept me away. Most of my pics were dreadful, but they sounded incredible. The 5 guys came out and started to jam slowly building into Diarabi. Once they hit full swing the two vocalists came out and started stomping and shaking themselves and percussive instruments around. Really high energy from start to finish and they melded songs into each other and it was easy to get caught off guard. They played 2 tracks not off the most recent album. The vocalists spent the entire time they weren't singing dancing and interacting with those of us in the first row.
I'll take another look through my photos now and post anything that looks decent.

The Flaming Lips were great last night. I had zero remaining interest in them as a live band before they changed up the live show, so it was exciting to rediscover how good they can be when they aren't d*cking around. It's like finding a favorite shirt that's been buried in the back of the closet for a year. The set was heavy on The Terror and other moodier material, but it flowed really well. It's easier to maintain momentum when Wayne isn't shouting "come on, motherf*ckers" for 5 minutes between every song. Most of the crowd wasn't feeling it, though.

The Black Keys were pretty dull.
I agree on both points. That was the first time I've seen The Black Keys since Bonnaroo 2010, and I just wasn't feeling it last night. The Flaming Lips were great.
