You gotta try Green Man, and the Funkatorium (24 sours/funks on draft), also Burial is amazing and they have free food.
Thanks! I love Green Man and the Funkatorium/Wicked Weed in general. I've never had Burial though so I think that's the first stop.
Theya re all in like a two block area, Twin Leaf which is also right around there is also pretty great. Also there is a great bottle shop called Tasty Beverage Company.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
I can second that Burial is legit. If you go to the Funkatorium, please post pictures to taunt Rothric
Ooooh great idea. We follow each other on Snapchat so I can do some real-time taunting.
Oh man, what I've had from the Funkatorium so far has been outstanding! I've had a Black Angel and Amorous so far. Still have another Black Angel and an Oblivion bottle sitting patiently in my closet.
Toast a glass of something funky and sour my direction!
In other exciting beer news, Jester King just posted that they bottled their first batch of 100% spontaneously fermented beer. They started the program 3 years ago, and just created and bottled their first blend. It will still bottle condition for 6-9 months, but I am really excited to try it when it's ready!
JK had a special Super Bowl Sunday tasting menu, they brought out casks of several currently unavailable beers. My favorite was Coquetier, a beer inspired by the Sazerac cocktail. It's brewed with cubeb peppercorns, anise, and lemon zest and juice and then aged in brandy barrels. Completely unlike anything I've had before, absolutely incredible.

I need some good JEster King bottles, how bribeable are you? I have a EMbrace The Funk Funky Blue Persuasion, and a Green Man Schnozzberry not doing much at the moment, plus I still have that sixer of hopslam.

Awesome. I'm not familiar with Twin Leaf. Thanks for this.

I am going to pick one of these up today and there is no limit if anyone wants one
Wednesday at 4pm. We release our second vintage of the Embrace The Funk Lignage À Trois bottles. This 100% Brett red ale w/raspberries was aged in barrels that held TN wine, and before that TN whiskey. We think it's got a great lineage. $25/ 750ml btl, no purchase limit! (We have lots.) It's also your last chance to grab a 2015 Brett Saison 12oz bottle! Take a few home, or enjoy one here! Or both, duh. See you tomorrow, you funky people!

From the Big Ears thread. Figured it applied here. I edited out the Big Ears specific stuff. The lady friend is coming in this weekend, and we're planning to go out Saturday to give it a whirl.
Hey friends! I was able to check out Balter Beer Works last night. I had their flight, their porter made with Three Bears Coffee (local) was light but had a great taste. I'm not big on IPAs but it was my second favorite. All the beers had APVs less than 6%. The menu was diverse and I had the roasted brussel sprouts with fried egg on top and my date had the salmon. Service was great. They give you a dollar off a brew, if you bike there. Their beer garden should be opened by then so if it is nice, we can sit outside.
Sadly I'll be at work the day my local shop is releasin' their allotment. But we are gonna carry a keg of it at my bar job so I can drink some at least.

I am getting a second sixer PM me your address, and I will send you a few.

I haven't tried Awake yet, but let my cousin's husband try one - he seemed to like it. For Whirlpool, that had some solid flavor to it for a 4.5% abv APA. I was expecting something more subdued, but this was surprising.
I might be in over my head on Framing Hammer, as I rarely don't drink stuff with that high an abv. (I believe this is 10%)

And instead my bar got a keg and a case of cans! Hooray fer the most expensive sixer I've paid fer to date!

How bad are we talking?
I once paid $17 for a four pack.
I think it was $38.18 with tax, but I paid our sellin' price and didn't buy it at cost. I asked my GM if it was cool to buy six, and it sounded like he would've sold me the cans fer our cost, but he was doin' me the favor. When I actually see him at work next I might get a little $$$ back, but I'm not expectin' it.
I missed the hopslam bus this year. The bar I'm going to tonight for a friends bday has it on tap so at least I'll get to try this years batch. I'm spending the day in Atlanta at the end of the month and can't wait to try some more local stuff out there.

Check out Max Powers if you are downtown.
Will do, thanks! I'm going to enjoy the nice warm weather, sit outside and drink. Goodbye subzero weather.

Anyone want to get in on a club where we mail a growler around every week? You get it full drink it, and refill then remail. Hopefully a number divisible by 4, but I am sure we can work out details.

I'm interested. Would be interesting to try beers from other parts of the country, or share some good stuff from New England. One particular concern of mine (and Cokes, if decides to do it) regarding the growler bit is: in Massachusetts, growlers can only be sold with the brewer's logo on it.
Meaning if I had a growler of Jack's Abby, it can only have Jack's Abby in it. I couldn't use an Opa-Opa bottle and then go to Jack's Abby and have the Opa-Opa bottle filled there. (Opa-Opa isn't that great, I just know they sell a lot of growlers in retail.)
