I got it one week. If I remember right, I got "Walking with Dinosaurs" on DVD, a Atlanta Falcons/GA Lottery running parachute and something else weird.
Today was an unexpected "good karma" day. The campus librarian posted on FB that she'd forgotten her lunch & was ready to start munching on freshmen. Without asking, I raided my break room* & made her a goodie bag full of protein bars, popcorn, crackers & peanuts, Crystal Light, hot chocolate, etc. She was THRILLED and thanked me profusely. *Side note: if you're ever anywhere near my campus & you've got munchies, come to my office. Srsly. I'm stocked!
An hour later, a professor colleague hands me a wadded $10 bill. She'd found it on the floor outside her office and decided to give it to me.
I love moments like these. Thank you, Karma Fairy!
Galactic with Corey Glover, opening act Big Something tomorrow night with hubby and the kids. Really excited, hope everyone behaves and this cold is gone by then

My wife and I just booked plane tickets to go to Maine in October. This will make 49 states for me. I'm excited to get to all 50. Anyone have suggestions for things to do in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont? Can anyone recommend a good place to stay? (Picking a place to stay is the hardest part for me.)
What a wonderful time to go to New England. I'm sooo jealous. My company has an office in Portland, Maine & I hear it's a pretty awesome place. We also have an office in Waterbury VT, which is home to Ben & Jerrys. I adore New England.
For northern New England, any state, drink maple syrup straight out the bottle. In New Hampshire, drive without a seat belt and run around with loaded guns.

I don't go up that way nearly enough.
No seat belt laws in NH? I'm in?! (My last words.)
1. ROOFAN IS BACK!!! We've missed you 'round here, pal!
2. After sorta kinda accidentally blowing off last night's plans (due to an unplanned early evening nap - srsly, who does that? Thanks, allergy meds! Way to knock me flat out at *the* most inopportune moment!), I feared there was NO WAY to recover from that...but it seems I've worried for nothing. No harm, no foul. There is nothing rotten in the state of Denmark, thus tonight there will be much rejoicing & imbibing. YAY for not drinking alone!

Was at the office every day this month, and all but three days the month before that. Was here past 3 am the last couple nights but today the only items on my to do list are clean my desk and have lunch with the boss. Gonna drink a thousand beers this weekend, you guys.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Holy cow! YAY! billypilgrim now has HIS OWN PICTURE as his avatar! First he beats me like a redheaded stepchild a few times in WWF, now he's rubbing shoulders w/Warren Haynes? Lord help. He's gonna be unbearably smug now.
Yayyyy, just found out I won two tickets to the Legendary Giveback (read Avett Brothers concert in Charlottesville VA) Now i just have to figure out if I can go!
Tough day today. Tough work. I have an employee that got evicted last week. I want to help them but when they dont make it in today it makes it difficult to take them to lunch, get a bus pass and whatever else I can do.
Updating my GRRRRRRRRRR into the Yay thread. Our employee has gotten into work the rest of the week and it seems like we've been able to maintain confidentiality about the situation so co-workers just think there's some tough times and that's that. Also, the few people that do know have pooled together to get some extra grocery/gas money and transit cards so eating and getting to work wont be an issue. Our owners are included in that group. I like that I actually like the people I work for.
It's been 2 years since my washer shiz the bed, and I've grown to LOATHE the laundromat. Yesterday my parents showed up at my house to take my bf and I to dinner. In the back of my dad's truck there was older(but very working!) washer AND dryer! BEST SURPRISE EVER!! My dad even took our broken stacking unit with him for scrap weight, so free junk removal too! This may seem like a small, random yay, but it's honestly so friggin awesome to me after the crappy year I've had.
i had an old credit card my undergrad made (yes, forced!!) all new incoming students to open in conjugation with a bank account that was tied to our meal plan & student IDs. it only had a balance of $700 but i'd just been making the minimum payment on it since we don't have a lot of extra $$ right now. like i said, it wasn't a ton, but something that was still hanging over my head and bothering me, since i am currently unemployed. at the bank on friday i inquired about the card and the teller told me: "i am not showing a balance on your credit card, a payment of $740 was made on 9/27."

Yay to great plans with the girls all weekend. Including a big ol' punk rocker road trip (with at least two babies in tow) to a farm in the country to go hayriding, apple and pumpkin picking and cider drinking. And yay to reminding myself that I have fantastic friends and my family and house drama is only temporary, and all the extra work I've been picking up is worth the stress and will pay off in the long run.
