Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen. I don't know about everybody else, but I would much rather sleep in a soaked tent then have a sunburn. You can dry off, but a sunburn lasts a good 2-3 days. It's impossible for me to have any fun when I'm wearing a blistering lobster coat. It's not even painful so much, just extremely bothersome and uncomfortable.
I would suggest at least SPF 50 sun block. Go higher if you have a light skinned complexion. I stressed my first time too, but if you can avoid getting sunburnt and keep the rain out of your tent (if it even does rain) everything else will fall into place guaranteed.
YES YES YES. As we get closer to June, more folks will come here that are noobs. I constantly see girls saying they have a base tan, will go tanning for a base tan, they don't burn, etc. Who cares, USE SUNSCREEN. I use SPF30 the entire weekend and still go home with a pretty deep tan. You don't realize how much time you will be in constant, unfiltered direct sun. It's really brutal. You'll be sweating a lot and may not realize your suncreen has washed off - reapply often. Would suck to miss your favorite show because you're dealing with major burn or even sun poisoning.
