I'd have prefered it if the Yardbyrds rumors had proved to be true instead, but this is interesting news.

They would need to tour the US, a single show at Bonnaroo would be absolute pandemonium. Such a long shot, but it would be the ultimate experience!!

Well it says they plan to start the tour in November, Maybe they'll start in Europe, Japan show, Australia, than the U.S. but i just dont see them doing more than 20-25 shows, but maybe i'm wrong..maybe they wont even do that many. Hopeful they're schedual will land them in the south east around June :)

i mean it can't just be a one off, at least one U.S. show. At Bonnnaroo would be awesome, but I don't think it would happen

I still, for some reason dont believe this is going to amount to anything but a couple of one-offs.
I truely would love to be proven wrong, and I may eat my words, but I really don't expect to ever see Led Zeppelin.
Also, I really can't imagine actually buying Led Zeppelin tickets, it would just seem surreal.

From Wikipedia:

"On July 27, 2007, Atlantic/Rhino, & Warner Home Video announced three new Led Zeppelin titles to be released in November, 2007. Released first will be Mothership on November 13, a 24-track best-of spanning the bands career, followed by a reissue of the soundtrack to The Song Remains the Same on November 20 which includes previously unreleased material, and a new DVD."

Maybe Bonnaroo should look into either booking Gilmore or Waters for next year if this is the case. ;)

I was actually thinking more of their solo preformance, but a summer jam with either one of those would be great.

I know, but this would *seem* to have a little more weight behind it.

Like I said, I'm not going to hold my breath for an appearance at Roo, but some sort of tour seems possible.

yeah, if they werent doing a big tour i dont there is a chance. I wouldnt even like it if say they only played maybe five or six shows in america. Bonnaroo would sell out in ten minutes, if that happened to be one stop they made. i guess we will find out in november, but until then..

Just saw this on jambands.com!!!

Led Zeppelin to Reunite for Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Gig

After months of rumors, Led Zeppelin has confirmed the details regarding its reunion performance. The legendary rock group will play a one-off concert at London's 22,000-capacity O2 Arena on November 26. In addition to core members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, the group's lineup will include the late John Bonham's son Jason on drums. If the show is successful, Led Zeppelin is expected to plan a world tour for 2008.

Led Zeppelin's reunion performance will be part of a tribute concert to Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died after falling at New York's Beacon Theatre last year. Pete Townshend, former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini will also perform at the tribute. The gig marks Led Zeppelin's first live appearance since 1988, when the trio performed at a 40th anniversary celebration for Atlantic records with Jason Bonham behind the kit. The group officially parted ways after Bonham’s death in 1980, though Plant and Page toured on occasion throughout the 1990s.

Is this cool? I want it to be, but I am not quite sure. The only way I will be able to afford to see them is if they go to Roo... if the Police charged $254.50 in NY, then my guess is that these will go for something more like $1254.50. While I do hope for the chance to see these legends together again, my gut wishes they would just leave things alone. And, based on his recent tour, though he still sings great on the lower keys, Plant can't hit the high notes anymore anyway, as all of the Zep songs he did were rearranged to accomodate his current abilities. Would Zepellin fans accept that if Zep had to do the same thing on this tour?

apparently the tix are lottery-only. Good luck to anyone here who plans on going.

From rollingstone.com
Fans wanting to purchase tickets priced at £125 (approximately $250) must register at www.ahmettribute.com, where their names will be entered in a lottery. 14,500 tickets will be made available in this way, according to Goldsmith. In addition there will be a handful of special “package tickets” available for between £750 to £1000.
