Thanks for listening to me Bonnaroo. Not that they announced he'd be in the superjams but I'd be surprised if he weren't in one of em, plus his show has the potential to be a superjam of it's own. Who else is stoked for this show?
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

I'm assuming he is putting together a band for a yet-unannounced tour, because there doesn't seem to be any information on "Funk University" as an actual band - just the online school.
Either way - I'm very much down for this. Hopefully we just have a big funky tent wit Dr. John.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
^^^ I agree, weird to not really see anyone super excited about this.
I'm super SUPER excited for this!!!!!!!
I snuck into a club to see P-Funk when I was an underage kid and I've never been the same... Bootsy is astoundingly, mindblowingly awesome. Between this and the Meters I might pass out from happiness!!
okie folks.... gonna be honest here, where do I start to get into this awesome man?
James Brown - Love Power Peace (live) Parliament - Mothership Connection Praxis - Transmutation (a must) Bootsy Collins - Ahh... The Name Is Bootsy, Baby Science Faxtion -Living On Another Frequency

It kind of makes me sad thinking about who else I'll be missing while I'm at this show. I can already see the conflicts on this schedule as being far more than nightmarish.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Bootsy was near the middle of my "to see" list until I had a dream last night that he was a serial killer. I had to team up with Oprah to stop him, but then it all just devolved into an awesome jam session.
And I realize I probably just revealed too much about my own personality and am moving on now...
Funk University is the name of his new album, if you look at the collabs there you can get a pretty good idea of who will be with him.
Tracklist of new album
‘Tha Funk Capitol Of The World’:
1. Intro 2. Hip Hop @ Funk U (ft. Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, & Chuck D) 3. Mirrors Tell Lies (ft. Jimi Hendrix) 4. JB-Still The Man (ft. Rev. Al Sharpton) 5. Freedumb (ft. Dr. Cornel West) 6. After These Messages (ft. Samuel L. Jackson) 7. Kool Whip (ft. Phil Ade & iCandice) 8. The Real Deal (ft. Sheila E. & iCandice) 9. Don’t Take My Funk (ft. Catfish Collins & Bobby Womack) 10. If Looks Could Kill (ft. Bela Fleck, Zionplanet-10, & Dennis Chambers) 11. Minds Under Construction (ft. Buckethead & (Z-Class)) 12. Siento Bombo (ft. Olvido Ruiz & Ouiwey) 13. Garry Shider Tribute (ft. George Clinton & Linda Shider) 14. Stars Have No Names (They Just Shine) (ft. Nick Arnold & Chrissy Dunn) 15. Chocolate Caramel Angel (ft. Faith Daniels, Ronni Racket, & Casper) 16. Yummy, I Got The Munchies (ft. Musiq Soulchild, Razzberry Hershey & Tom Joyner)
so there looks like a big possibility of Bela Fleck coming out for some of the show.
