She sounded really angry in those quotes. Didn't sound like she was looking forward to playing any shows.

Well, it reads like she will stop performing for a while - so she's probably going to cancel her Bonnaroo performance, which sucks because I really really really wanted to see her.

She sounds a little Bi-polar.

From that article, I get the sense that Roo will be missed by her. One less conflict is the best way to look at it.

I understand needing to cancel but i'll be uber pissed if she cancels this close to roo when we wont even have the possibility of a replacement.

FTA:
“This is my last show. I cancelled the U.K. tour,” she said before performing at the MoMA’s 40th annual benefit “Party in the Garden.” “Nobody knows,” she went on. “This is it. You’re hearing it first. My manager was supposed to cancel it yesterday, but he was watching football — don’t tell anyone — and he forgot. So nobody knows. I guess now they will.” M.I.A.’s concert schedule includes more than just stops in the U.K., but it seemed pretty clear she was referring to all subsequent tour dates.

Sounds like Bonnaroo is off from the horse's mouth. This is weak. I bought her latest album solely because she was performing. What an ANN COULTER !

I've been dying to see MIA and would be pissed if she cancelled this close to Roo... BUT on the bright side, I was super bummed about not being able to see Willie Nelson or Rilo Kiley, and I suppose this would solve that problem for me; albeit in the worst way possible.

they could be scrambling something together to take over her time slot... not saying a new band/artist, but perhaps getting someone who's already there some more stage time

Wow, this really has no affect on me whatsoever! MIA is the only artist on the lineup that physically makes me say Ew.

And maybe OAR.

Smite on smiters!

Oh well, wasn't planning on seeing her. Out of default I had to listen to her at Voodoo, horrific if you ask me. Rapping about nonsense, half the time I couldn't even understand what she was saying. She was also wearing this ridiculous giddup, almost like a spaceman (er spacewoman) gone wrong, dressed in this metallic jumpsuit thing, with like a hoodie over her head. Strange.....

EDIT: btw becca, I saw your comment at the bottom of the article haha

They have been wrong before but she did up and cancel a ton of dates last year. I am not holding my breath for her. The last time I went to see Teisto play he cancelled the day of the festival. It has been known to happen.

I saw her at OSU a few weeks ago. She put on a super fun performance, but she came out nearly an hour and a half after her opener. It was miserable.
