well I share the frustration aspects, but not on this one.............just because of the jack johnson/ pearl jam possibilities of sharing the same stage, it's a no-brainer for me.

Karma for starting this thread. Jack Johnson is headlining bonnaroo and is up against one of the biggest artists in the country. HUGE conflict whether you are a fan or not. Everyone I know has e-mailed bonnaroo about it, everyone else do the same. maybe they'll move Kanye to friday and put Rilo Kiley in a day slot.

Why would you e-mail Bonnaroo about something like that? There are conflicts every year. They are done to thin out the crowds so not EVERY single person heads to one show or sometihng like that.

Personally I think everyone here should be happy that they are on stages so close to one another that you can easily walk back and forth to check out whatever is peaking your interest at the moment.

I understand being upset about a conflict........but e-mailing bonanroo to complain is just silly imo.

Jack would have a spot with no conflicts with any bands if ABB hadn't dropped. I'm sure he's pretty angry about it too. There are always conflicts with bands that you like, granted. These are two top tier bands that could both easily headline a festival. As far as I know it's never happened before.

I highly doubt Jack is "pretty angry"
To be honest, there will prolly be more people at his show now, then there would be if he would have played on Sunday to close out the fest. Alot of people are NOT Kanye fans, and would rather be waiting for some PJ. If he'd have played on Sunday night, about more than half of Bonnaroo would have been gone, just like it happens every year for the final headliner. Seriously, Jack Johnson mad? Jack couldnt get mad if you broke his guitar, and slept with his mama. Geez.

no conflict here, Jack is perfect chill time leading up to Pearl Jam. I could care less when Kanye is playing. I would rather watch someone who actually plays an instrument. I think there is more potential surprises during Jack's set. With Kanye on stage with his enormous ego there will not be any room for guests. I am emailing bonnoroo to thank them for thinning the crowd for Jack.

no conflict here. ill see whats up with jack when levon helm is done rambling. to email bonnaroo is ridiculous imo. im very upset that MMJ is conflicting MSTRKRFT and Disco Bisco but im not gonna have a bad time at MMJ because theres great music on another stage.

edit: i also think it says a lot about bonnaroo to have two mega names vs one another and neither of them are actually the headliner for the day. and after the "headliner" there is phil lesh who may have the set of the weekend. the way i see it there is 4 "headliners" on saturday alone, plus chris rock as the marquee comedy act. nothing to complain about.

Kanye vs. Jack.......GODDAMMNNN is Kanye gonna be loud, Jack on the other hand...

Now that is the conflict.

as for the kanye/jack thing...i also want to see them both, but i like jack more. also, i was already planning on just catching a little bit of kanye. So, what I think I'm gonna do is stay for all/the majority of jack's set, then walk (quickly) over to kanye.

Im stuck between the two, its really the only big conflict I wasn't hoping for. I really want to see Kanye and his glow in the dark show and iv grown to really like Jack so missing him would be a shame. I think ill end up at Kanye first, then half way thru move to Jack and try to a good spot for PJ.

Neither.

Both of 'em cut into Levon and put a little too much stress on that horrible, already fragile, Iron & Wine/Levon Helm conflict!

I understand the frustration. Its not just any conflict... its a conflict of two headliners. Which is why there should have been a Thursday night headliner.

Anywho, I'm choosing Kanye because I think its gonna be a legendary show, but I'm sad to miss JJ. Hopefully I'll get to see him play with PJ.

I can't stand Jack Johnson, so I'm perfectly happy :D

I just wish JJ was conflicting with someone I want to see more than Kanye like Raconteurs or !!!, but I'll still see 'Ye for sure.

JJ is a bit too mellow for me, and I'd really like to see what Kanye brings to the table. Hell, even one of his tantrums would be entertaining.

I'm planning on catching the first 45 minutes of Kanye or so. Then catching the end of JJ and securing a spot for Pearl Jam

Well, if you're going to put Kanye during the evening and not late night, he has to be up against somebody else that's, theoretically, as big and can split the crowd... While the conflict is rough, Bonnaroo is doing a good job of making sure that one show won't be overcrowded... For me, it's Kanye all the way... I've seen him once and he was SICK live, which can not be said about any other mainstream hip hop/rap acts these days (aside from Lil Wayne, who's just in a whole different league)

JJ - I am betting on Eddie Vedder to come out and share the stage with him, and that is something I will not miss. I am not a JJ fan, but I am not going to miss anything PJ / Eddie Vedder. I was really looking forward to seeing Kanye too

this is one of two conflicts for me....

if it was just simply Jack V. Kanye (No Glow) ...It would be Jack
if it was Jack V. Kanye (Glow) ...Kanye (i'm a sucker for lights)

But...since I want to be as close as possible to PJ....I getting to JJ early and squeezing as close as possible.

I heard Eddie Vedder was going to make a guest appearance with Kanye...something about a rap battle between the two.
