i just got an email today.....

"Ticketing information for the 2008 event will be released in the coming months. We will not be offering 'early-bird' tickets this year, but please be sure to sign up for our E-List to get the most up to date info regarding tickets and on-sale dates & times."

Wow, maybe they wont even have price tiers this year either. Just sell the tickets at a flat rate of $250 to $260 because they know the line-up they have in store for us will sell out no matter what. I was really looking forward to these early- birds this year. :'( :'(

:( :( :( I hope they have a better plan then :( Me and about 15 friends were counting on early bird tickets...being piss poor college students and whatnot! Hopefully there will be something rather than this "everyone pays full price" nonesense. Maybe there will be a special Inforooster discounty ^.^

I'm almost 100% certain they had early birds in 06' and about 80% they did it in 05'. I'm not sure about the other years though..........

I'd say this means they know they have something they won't have problem selling tickets for.

The early bird thing was an easy way to make money off of folks who would be on the fence with higher ticket prices. If they have a line up they know they can sell then there is no need for early birds or price ranges (not to say that won't happen).

I'd say its I can't spell Zeppelin for sure. They will have NO problem selling those tickets (and very fast).

Some people count on those tickets. It's not just about fence sitting for the value per band seen.

Souled out !!! That just added about a hundred bucks a ticket to some of Roo's most faithful attendees' ticket price.

S'alright here. Now I certainly will see a couple smaller regional fests. Y'all can tell me about how some pricey dinosaurs rocked yer 100,000 (m)asses.

I'm guessing nothing. What I mean it, I don't think what they are doing this year has any bearing on why they are no longer doing early bird tix. I think that after last year they realized that they sell so many tickets whether or not people know the lineup, that they might as well sell them after announcing the lineup, because then they can charge full price. It's a classic example of how Superfly is a multi-million capitalist venture. Making all the money they can is more important than pleasing loyal fans.

I think since they own the joint, they'll turn bonnaroo into their megaroo, and offer up other fests for the pissed off people who remember bonnaroo for what it was.

Does lend some creedence to a phish reunion at the farm. and if they pull off both, they could pave the place in money.

It all makes a lotta cents...

If it is true than you know they have someone lined up for us that will blow the lid off. Has Bonnaroo ever really let you down with there lineup (unless you are a Tool hater and from what I have heard a lot of people became Tool fans from that show thank you very much).

This pretty much confirms in my mind that either Led Zeppelin, Phish, or _______ (insert big name here) for bonnaroo IMO. Personally I will be happy with any or all as long as I am at the farm next year.

Ughh...quit complaining. Bonnaroo hasn't 'sold out' and this DOESN'T confirm Led Zeppelin. They probably just realized that they could sell all the tickets at full price, so there's no point in doing early birds.

I'll believe it when I get the e-mail anyway...why was this guy the only one to get the email? *shrug*

Bottom line: We don't know who the headliners are, we don't know why Superfly/AC has done this....so quit bitching...when has Bonnaroo EVER failed to amaze us? That's my point.

At least there is some lovely convo on the boards lately. I cant wait until they for real announce the lineup and we have the endless convos about how bad _____ is for roo and that the whole world is going to cave in...lol.

If you need evidence just go back a few months and read the lovely Tool threads that were abound. Actually very fun stuff now a few months later and you know what....Tool didnt ruin roo....Police did (minus Stewart Copeland, he gets a free pass since he is a drum machine).

metallica has been the most vocal anti-progress band out there. i don't hate their music. They may not ruin your roo.

regardless-we have all been commenting on rumors-not starting them, not promoting them. It's one of the things that happens on message boards. It's what we do in December. All of my comments have been made on an If/Then sort of basis. If the rumors pan out, then this is the way I feel.

Sorry if it is sooooo gawd awful disgusting to read. Not like this friggin' board is determining a constitution or anything.
