Bigtime props to all you people getting this info.
But back to the Umphrey's McGee thing, Inforooster tweeted saying they are confirmed but I don't see anything in this thread, no e-mails or anything. What's the deal??

They're in the list on page one..
EDIT: Granted, approo put them under confirmed whilst their response was pretty vague.

There was also some poster on here who claimed to talk to someone in the band or something like that.
As of now we haven't confirmed Sasquatch or Bonnaroo. If you want to check back in a few weeks, I will let you know.
Ah that's his way of saying "can't say yes as of now". I want to say that Santigold will be at Roo, but I don't have a source; I just happen to know she's touring with RHCP & if they're at Roo most likely she will be too.
Bigtime props to all you people getting this info.

Got an email that they said that anything can happen.
Ha... Alex Young from COS is questioning the ethics of these artist confirmations. Wah.
Where at? Even if he disagrees, you'd think he'd use the info for his site. If anything, they should've at least updated today with the Sasquatch leak from the fest's main site. COS is supposed to be the festival hub of the internet, but are falling way behind right now. I know a lot of you guys have problems with them or mock them, but I think COS is a great resource and I read them every day. It'll be interesting to see what he said. I don't see anything unethical in posing as a fan (which we are) trying to find out about acts playing. It's all in service of getting excited for the festival. I mean, I bought my Roo and Sasquatch tickets two months ago and think about them every day. It's not as if we're coming from a malicious angle or trying to hurt the fest or artists. Plus they do cite insider as a source haha, so I don't know where his ethics start and end.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Hey guys, quit bitching on Alex and/or CoS.
I don't get why everyone is so negative about them. They get their rumors from boards as Inforoo, so what? I think that's good research. They are there to list rumors they find, not to go ask everyone.
They used to be the first one to know about rumors/confirmations but they grew a lot and now it's impossible. So they find rumors/confirmations here on Inforoo. We all think they don't do shit, but there are a lot of people who are not on forums and have not the time to go googling around and email people. That's why CoS lists rumors. To make it easier.
Do we rather have 5000 more people coming on Inforoo to bitch on us?

He replied in the Bonnaroo comments on COS.... "It's not a matter of getting on the ball. EMA may very well be playing. We just aren't going to use second-hand sourced emails as confirmation. Not to mention its not super ethical."
Keep up the good work. He's just butthurt cause he doesn't have the imagination & patience to do it.

anyone know where i can find this sasquatch leaked lineup? just curious as to who was on it.

They didn't used to give credit to Inforoo. They do now but a while ago they would just update the festival outlook whenever we here on inforoo found out some information. Then people would come here and say "Hey guys! COS just updated with so-and-so as being expected" and we'd have to say "Yea....we're the ones that found out".
Basically people felt like Alex was taking credit for others work. He wouldn't explain where his info came from. I'm glad to see he links to us as sources now.

The old website couldn't take all the sources. Now they can lists as many as they want.

Yeah, imagine of CoS didn't exist, and then every bozo who wanted to know what bands might be playing would come here and wander into the wrong threads asking, "HEY DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY RUMORS AT THIS POINT?! IS THERE A LIST SOMEWHERE I COULD CHECK OUT?? HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT WIDESPREAD PANIC? MY UNCLE TOLD ME DAVID BOWIE WOULD BE THERE

this will make everyone happy. Renman1 Steve Rennie I don't think Bonnaroo likes Incubus for some reason. Never been invited. Go figure.

Hey all. Heard back from DSO's publicity manager today. Sorta vague response, but really nice...
-------------------------------------- Thanks for the support Adam. The best I have for you is to remain patient as all the festivals Dark Star Orchestra plays at have specific release dates and times. Many more events will be confirming and announcing DSO in the coming weeks/months. Not sure where you’re out of – but the All Good Festival (this year in Central Ohio) is always a good bet! ;-) they’ve played like 9 of the last 10 – they’re not yet confirmed- but that festival would be a good one for putting your eggs in one basket. Hope to see you there ~

This email definitely gave me hope for them being at 'Roo! Sorry I couldn't get more than that!

He was able to start listing us after we started feeding him fake info on purpose and laughing at him. Like ITM said at least he now cites us, before it was all take and no give, and it got obnoxious. People on here are dedicated, and tireless in finding this stuff out, to watch someone sit around and reprint it like he did all the work gets old fast.
This is why he should probably refrain from snarky little remarks about our ethics. He has certainly had his share of ethical issues himself in my opinion.

It's not just our board by the way that gets frustrated with Cos. It's the Coach and Lolla board as well. It's certainly cooled down, but there was obviously something wrong with the way they used to do things.

For what it's worth, I don't think Alex Young or his Site are without merit. They cover a lot of festie ground, whereas we are tunnel-visioned on 'Roo for the most part. I just found it slightly amusing that the town crier would question our journalistic ethics, when you know he's gotta chalk it up on the board at some point.
