I'm 50/50 in terms of possible excitement fer the Rolling Stones at 'Roo. While I would like to see them, I think they're past their prime. But hey maybe they can still rock out. At the same time, I would never pay the $$$ fer a ticket to see them on their own tour as I'm sure ticket prices would be outrageous. So at least if they are at Bonnaroo I can catch some/all of their set and it's already included in the ticket price. Can't be any worse than The Police or KoL right?

I'm pretty much the same. Once the lineup is announced, and they are on it, I can get myself excited for their set. I would so much rather have McCartney though.

It might not be worse than those but it won't be great. I have seen them a couple of times from Voodoo Lounge onwards and it wasn't good.

Pretty much how i feel. The name would look nice on the poster, and it'd be cool to say you were seeing them, but not personally my thing. McCartney would be fantastic.
Some Googling shows Van Halen was supposed to play Download, but pulled out after they cancelled their European tour for an American one. Maybe they did cancel Europe sans the festival, which is a pretty big deal (Sabbath will be headlining there this year as well). Makes more sense for them to play there than Bonnaroo, anyway.
I just don't see them playing Bonnaroo, in all honesty. Aside from Metallica, every other major band that has played has been more "traditional" to the typical Bonnaroo goer, which I would label a hybrid hippie-hipster-classic rock fan (plus rap). There is a reason we haven't seen Aerosmith, Kiss, Guns & Roses, or Bon Jovi yet at Bonnaroo so I doubt we'll see Van Halen...
Prince, McCartney, or the Stones would all have me be the happiest person alive if they topped the list. Not sure who I'd rather see, but McCartney would probably be my choice as he's a Beatle, although Prince can put on one of a show I've heard, and the Stones are the definition of rock royalty so, yeah.
I'd throw Clapton in there as he is the only one of those classic acts I haven't seen
He's fucking great live - saw him two years ago and he put on one hell of a show. Nothing like seeing him rip through Badge and Layla live... He is still one of my most wanted acts for Bonnaroo, put him up there with Beck or Trucks to jam and it'd be one of the best sets of the weekend.
I would love to see the Stones at Bonnaroo, being that I've seen both Prince and Sir Paul live and both were great, Prince especially. But any one of those three would be spectacular.
If we are talking dreams, I had a dream one night that i watched The Goo Goo Dolls at roo. Not necessarily saying I want them there. Just sharing a dream I had.
I had a dream that I was being chased by a wolf and then it turned out to just be a ground hog and I was all like "GET!" and then it ran off.. then I danced with a girl I haven't seen since high school.

Shoot for Cheap Trick next time and I'll totally support this idea.

I had a dream of Dave Grohl drumming for Paul McCartney about a month ago going to bed with Bonnaroo on the mind can shape the dreams. And it was 2 months before the lineup.

I had a dream the day or two before the lineup release last year that the top line looked something like
Pearl Jam - Metallica - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Tool
They really decided to embrace the whole "10th anniversary" thing making a lineup full of repeat rock headliners from the 80s and 90s. I was horrified in the dream
Can we stop talking Van Halen and talk about Van Morrison? Sure it means shutting down alcohol sales during his set, just make it the Pre-HL on the What before Phish.
