Sorry, I understand people not wanting the same bands at roo every year, I totally understand that, but this year will be our first time going, and the Lips being there in any form at all, makes me insanely happy! I saw them for the 1st time live a couple years back and honestly considered quiting my mundane life and just follow them on their tour! *didn't mean to derail the thread, sorry- psyched to hear a glimmer of hope for the Lips
I understand what you mean. I've only seen them twice, I guess I just jumped on the wagon late. If there's one band I could follow around, it would probably be them. Maybe Bon Iver too. I was fortunate enough to land a photo pass to the 2010 Forecastle Festival, and leaning up against that stage as the show started and taking pics of all the madness of balloons, confetti, smoke and lights right above my head was the second greatest moment I've ever experienced at a concert. And that's a very close second to seeing Roger Waters perform Darkside of the Moon.

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

I emailed tune yards' management:
Me: I was wondering if there were any plans for more shows here in the US? I live in Texas and pretty much my only chance to see them would be here in Dallas or at Bonnaroo this summer

Avery: You will see them. That's all i can say.
Sounds good to me
Oh hell. Why did you throw in two options? Now we don't know if you will see them in Dallas, or we will see them at Bonnaroo?

BEST NEWS. I was at their free show in NYC this past summer and they were INCREDIBLE. probably tied Sufjan Stevens for best non-festival show of the summer.

They're as reasonably confirmed at this point as Eminem was prior to 2011. Sure we don't have one, single, 100% reliable sign for them, but it's pretty clear that we're getting RHCP.

I just wanted quickly pop in here and tell anyone who is interested that unfortunately Real Estate will be not playing Roo this year.
I spoke with the bass player tonight and he said that he really wanted to play this year but it didn't work out. They do put on a really good show though and I would urge everyone to check them out if their tour stops in your city.

absolutely. any person who has a working brain should be able to see the signs. in the past there has sometimes been that one act that a large group of people don't wanna believe is really going to be there. 2008 was metallica, 2011 was eminem. couldn't tell you about other years/acts of the top of my head, though kings of leon i guess could be considered the one for 2010. and i'd say that twitter/email from chad pretty much confirms it. why do people think it's a fake, because some guy wouldn't send you an email? the chili peppers will be there and most of you know once they take the stage you're gonna be pumped.

i agree they will be there, i dont agree i will be pumped when they take stage. now ill be there to give them a chance, and if they come out and give us set of mostly older material id enjoy the show a lot. but if they give us one of their current sets, no thanks.

I saw them way back in 1999 (Woodstock) and their performance was impromptu but still good.
Saw them in DC at the Verizon Center, 2007. Show must've been close to sold out (20,000?). My son and a couple of his friends were big fans at the time. RHCP put on a show fans enjoyed; very faithful to their records and airplay. Juice flowed through the crowd when they get what they're expecting. Gnarls Barkley opened for them, and Cee Lo was impressive.
i tweeted dfa1979 and odd future a couple of days ago and got nothing back.. figure tyler would've at least responded something since he has like 17,000 tweets
