I'm still reeling from the fact that Jesse McCartney, who hasn't put out an album since 2008, is still more relevant to the younger generation than a GOD DAMN BEATLE.
Ok starting at 11 am mountain I have class straight until 4. I need someone to text me the highlights of the lineup if it drops during that time. Volunteers? Preferably someone who knows what bands I care about
I don't have your phone number, bacon, but if you PM it to me, I'll help you out.
I really don't understand how you can have grown up in the Western world and not know who McCartney is. It seems like one of those things that is impossible to avoid learning at some point. Obviously I am wrong but still

I've gone on record many times as saying I dislike Paul McCartney (there goes my few remaining awesome points , but I am very surprised so many people don't know the guy. Like him or not-like the Beatles or not-he is a bit of a big deal. I would rather have the ghost of George Harrison be the 4th headliner or maybe Yim Yames doing his Harrison set.
This many kids not knowing Paul McCartney, to me, is just another sign of the damage that today's popular music is doing to the art form... if that makes any sense at all, long, long weekend!
this crap has been said for generations.... you young whipper snappers crap is never valid. Sure I think its sad they don't know who he is. But being outdated and nonfactor happens to everyone with enough time.
In reaction to the fact that there are enough people on this planet that don't know who Sir Paul McCartney to warrant a website to dedicate an entire page to them. I give you Nic Cage flipping out:
This might be the best/most useful YouTube video I've ever seen.

What's with the "nobody knows Paul" rant? I figure the vast majority of Roo-goers have got to be very familiar.
edit: nevermind, my fault. missed the link at the top
Omar, thank you so much for that Nic Cage going batshit crazy montage. A friend and I hold Cage Matches every so often where we watch a Nicholas Cage masterpiece chosen based on its low percentages on Rotten Tomatoes.

Like drivin' 80 mph past the yellow sign that says, "caution apocalypse ahead."

but the beatles are a legendary piece of rock history. maybe some people would consider listening to beethoven to be outdated too: but you don't have to listen to him to know who he is.

I'm going to start tracking down these little shithead kids and shoving Revolver & The White Album in their eye sockets. Then drop-kicking their parents in the temple for allowing a world to exist where some d-bag with a keyboard trashes Macca before saying that Lil' f*ckin' B should close the Grammys.
Now this I can get on board with. Part of me wants to actually do this, too. If it wasn't illegal.

yea but you dont read about beatles in many history books that i know of. Beethoven is gone over in grammar school. The beatles are not. Maybe soon our backwards society will include them.

I almost wish I hadn't asked... what is happening to younger generations. It's one thing to favor newer music, but to be ignorant of music's history is stupid.

I guess I'll have to actually get spotify. I have been avoiding it-for no particular reason. I wonder how long after the spotify release they will post it on the website?
