Wow. Please for the love of God (even your parent's God) listen to Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, After the Goldrush, and Tonight's the Night. Now. No seriously NOW
Don't forget On the Beach.
Well I just assumed after listening to the three I mentioned he would become so hooked that he listened to everything.
I think I figured it out. Daft Punk will be on the lineup when it is released next week. They will play an amazing set on the What stage saturday night. After the encore they will come down from their dodecahedron(this has replaced the pyramid) and remove their helmets. This will reveal that Daft Punk switched places with David Bowie and Prince during the encore break. The two will then perform a 4 hour set including songs from both of their catalogs.

Not even funny. Now you're just trying too hard. If you'd said Skrillex and Deadmau5, I would've lol'd
I think they'd be looking for an act who can still really bring it, and I'm not sure the Stones, the Who, or the Beach Boys really can. But again, just an opinion. It could be anybody really. I'm just hoping we don't get stuck with Aerosmith, or the Eagles, or Kiss, or Van Halen, or... you get the picture

As much as I want Dre and Snoop, we already have Radiohead pretty much confirmed. Have we ever gotten TWO of the same headliners as Coachella? I know we usually get one (Arcade Fire last year, Radiohead this year) but two??? Thats crazy talk.

If I am understanding insider correctly, then the Saturday headliner is not in place as of yet. Ok, so where does that leave the Chili Peppers? Assuming they're playing on Saturday, when and where do they play? That's what I am confused over.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I think the most important thing to consider is that this act would be unopposed. Other than I guess Eminem, the unopposed acts the past few years have been fairly agreeable.
I think we can all agree that Prince and McCartney would be epic. I'm really not so sure that we could agree on an act like Paul Simon... again just me, but I've seen a few dvds and live performances... Not much energy

I think we're looking at a Black Keys --> Eminem situation, with RHCP in the Eminem slot. Paul Simon or Beach Boys could definitely fit in the Black Keys slot.

I will open hand slap you if you introduce yourself on the farm.
Also, I am fully planning on dickpunching Tyler Zeller next time I see him on campus. I am gonna go light myself on fire now. See you guys when the lineup comes out!

That makes more sense. Or to put it another way, Beach Boys (hypothetically) in the Stevie Wonder spot and Chili Peppers in the Jay Z spot. It was the Daft Punk/Prince/Neil Young type dreaming that threw me off, because I don't see how the Chili Peppers would fit in with names that big.

Just listened...thanks for the references. I mean its obvious this guy is a legend for a reason and I can tell he's extremely talented, but I think it might be a generational thing. It just sounds like something my parents would have listened to...if they weren't southern baptist conservative Jesus freaks, that is
I feel similarly about country music...definitely respect a lot of the talent in the genre, but it isn't something I typically listen to.
I actually found I like some of his other songs a lot more than the ones you listed. "Rockin in the Free World", "My, My, Hey, Hey", "Heart of Gold", and others come to mind.
Definitely would check him out on the farm, but I just have a hard time seeing him billed so high. If i'm wrong though, just chalk it up to my ignorance.

I think we're looking at a Stevie/Jay-Z situation Saturday night. The way she described RHCP "loosely" as a headliner reminds me of the Stevie/Jay split in 2010 when she told us not to get caught up in semantics and that she's just referring to the 2 main stage acts on Saturday night. She refers to them "loosely" as a headliner probably because there's another act coming on after them.
My gut is telling me either:
RHCP > Prince
or
RHCP > Rage Against the Machine
Either would be incredible. I am getting so excited for the lineup

Just out of curiosity (not going to flame you), what do you typically listen to?

Zeller is the only reason the Heels were in the game in the first half. He made some mistakes down the stretch, but you can't really blame him for the loss.
Also so this post at least has a little relevance to this thread I would like to say that everyone needs to lower their expectations. You are setting yourselves up for disappointment.

Not in a place right now to forgive him for his play down the stretch. DICKPUNCH, R, DICKPUNCH.

I really think this is an unopposed act. I'm thinking someone big, like Macca, Prince, etc. This includes leftfield acts, though, like Santana. If RHCP is 4th, I think that they'll definitely get a LN What show.
I don't understand why some of you are so terrified of connecting the dots. Insider told you she was "loosely" describing RHCP as a headliner, but no one could come to terms with that. Now she's said that they are attempting to book a big, non-current act for Saturday night on the What and you really think it won't be unopposed? OK.

To a certain degree it is generational but in many ways it is not. I'm 22. Many of the other biggest Neil fans on this forum are around your age.
Also ftr the suggestions I made were to listen to the albums not just the songs.
